in this case, obama did it come to virginia. of course he carrieded virginia the last time. the first did testimony to do that since lbj. but the democratic candidate there comes from a rural area and he never really connected with the african-american vote and some of the people from the urban centers and in northern virginia that carried obama to victory there. i think it's going to be a surprise if the democrat pulls it out there. but i think these are curtain raisers. i don't think they'll give us much of an indication that will happen in the next presidential election. they'll just give us a senate shop of what's going on right now some two very different states. >> because some people would like to say this is about are president obama's very, very short coat tail, but it seems that these aces are being very much decided on an individual basis. but another one that may be some sort of a precursor about days ahead, let's talk about new york district 23, this notion that an insurgent conservative, orthodox conservative, would come in and really unseat the party's choice
